As a Senior Substation Primary (HV Plant) Design Engineer, you will work within one of our Electrical Engineering teams based in Birmingham, Epsom, Glasgow or Leeds. You will provide technical leadership on Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Design projects for clients such as National Grid and SSEN, focusing on electricity transmission and distribution networks.

Your responsibilities will include managing HV plant design aspects such as layouts, elevations, maintenance access drawings, earthing design and reports, mechanical interlocking, HV busbar calculations, and technical specifications. You will ensure quality assurance and delivery of design work, manage resources and training, act as Principal Designer Representative when required, and coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

You will also manage tender packages, chair design and hazard review meetings, attend client site visits, and maintain strong client relationships. Experience
Proven experience in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Primary Plant design, preferably up to 400kV but not essential. Demonstrated ability to manage tender packages and deliver HV plant technical offers. Experience in client engagement and business development is highly valued.

Qualifications
Minimum 2.2 BEng degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
