About the Role
The Sustainability Engineering team is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the definition, development, and continuous improvement of electrical infrastructure standards across Amazon facilities in Europe. You will enable EV charging infrastructure implementation through electrical design definition and review, develop grid infrastructure standards spanning high-voltage (up to 24 kV) and low-voltage systems, and explore emerging technologies focused on smart grid integration, efficiency, and resilience. This role drives the end-to-end deployment of EV chargers and other sustainability technologies across European sites, defines procurement and maintenance processes for electrical and sustainability infrastructure, and owns cost budgeting, forecasting, and tracking across sustainability programmes.
As part of your day-to-day, you will engage with multiple stakeholder groups across the organisation to drive technical decisions with large-scale impact. You will collaborate with Operations, Reliability & Maintenance, Health and Safety, Global Fleet Product, Finance, Procurement, and external vendors to design and deploy electrical infrastructure across Amazon’s European operational sites.
The Sustainability Engineering team powers Amazon’s sustainable growth through operational excellence and continuous innovation by managing supply chain, procurement, and maintenance activities and defining processes that ensure consistent, scalable delivery of EV charging infrastructure, grid connections, and smart grid solutions.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or foreign equivalent
- Experience with design, innovation, and research & development
- Experience managing engineering design projects
- Proficiency with business or technical software such as MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
- Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, high-speed manufacturing, and design-in-safety
- Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
About you
Driven and passionate about sustainability and electrical engineering, with strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills. You are motivated to make a meaningful impact through scalable infrastructure design and sustainable energy technologies. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to operational excellence and continuous innovation.
Qualifications
Relevant engineering degrees as noted above, combined with practical experience in electrical infrastructure design and deployment, especially in EV charging and smart grid technologies. Strong technical expertise in LV and HV electrical systems (up to 24 kV) and ability to act as a subject matter expert.
