About the Role

As one of the UK’s largest building engineering consultancies, you will collaborate with highly skilled teams across multiple disciplines including acoustics, air quality, building services (MEP), fire, lighting, security, and sustainability.
As a Graduate Sustainability Consultant, you will work on exciting, high-profile projects from day one, such as Canolfan Pentre Awel in Carmarthen, Multi-Megawatt Data Centre Campus, Oxford North, One Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester, Gwynfaen in Swansea, and the net-zero neighbourhood of Earls Court in London. Your role will expose you to all aspects of sustainability consultancy, allowing you to discover your strengths and interests.
Your day-to-day tasks may include:
- Working on live projects across diverse sectors including healthcare, hotels, retail, and residential
- Undertaking building performance simulation and energy-related workstreams using various modelling tools and techniques
- Developing energy strategies to lead sustainability innovation
- Assisting in environmental assessments such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM from early design stages to completion
- Gaining knowledge of whole life carbon reporting to support Net Zero Carbon strategies
- Conducting site surveys and researching innovative technologies
- Supporting the development of holistic Sustainability Strategies
Beyond project work, you may have the opportunity to engage in industry research, development studies, and authoring guidance, influencing the wider built environment sector. Communication will be key, involving collaboration with project teams, clients, and end users.

Experience
Previous placement or work experience in a similar industry is advantageous but not essential.
About you
- Serious commitment to sustainability
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Friendly, ambitious, confident, flexible, and resilient approach
- Appreciation of broader sustainability issues such as governance, reporting, climate change adaptation, and behaviour change
- Knowledge or awareness of BREEAM, WELL, Whole Life Carbon, or Energy Modelling is beneficial but not required
Qualifications
- Expected or achieved 2.1 or above degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Architecture, Built Environment, or a related discipline
- A Masters or relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous but not mandatory
