We provide a diverse sustainability consultancy service promoting sustainable development for a range of projects across all sectors. Our Sustainability Discipline is an industry leader in its approach to sustainable design, construction, and building operation. Focused on achieving ever greater standards of environmental sustainability, the discipline thrives on its dynamic, innovative, and ambitious working culture. This is a rare opportunity to grow not only your own career but also the industry approach to your field of expertise as a whole.

In this key and varied role, you can expect to:
- Provide expertise in whole life carbon assessments and Circular Economy for the built environment.
- Develop site specific whole life carbon appraisals using in-house tools and OneClick LCA software.
- Develop site specific BREEAM Mat 01 appraisals.
- Lead focused workshops with design teams and clients to guide and agree on whole life carbon targets, strategies to reduce emissions, and embed Circular Economy principles.
- Lead workshops with contractors to review whole life carbon assessments, monitor construction stages, and report progress.
- Lead workshops with local authorities where necessary, e.g. design review or planning approvals.
- Support and/or lead in-house Technical Excellence communities to advance the firm’s knowledge and maintain industry leadership.

While this role focuses on whole life carbon, you will also be involved in other core sustainability consultancy deliverables, including:
- Delivery of environmental and wellbeing assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc.) from early design stages through to project completion.
- Undertake modelling and assessments such as building performance simulation, Part L compliance, operational energy estimates, and overheating analysis.
- Support and/or lead the development of energy and sustainability strategies with clients to drive sustainability innovation.
- Support training of junior team members in workstream delivery, consultancy, and project planning.
- Opportunity to lead small to medium scale projects encompassing whole life carbon, circular economy workstreams, and broader sustainability services.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage directly with the industry through research, development studies, and authoring guidance.

Requirements

Experience

Experience with energy and sustainability strategies, environmental and wellbeing appraisals (BREEAM, WELL, Fitwel), energy performance modelling (ApacheHVAC, Part L, NABERS, Passivhaus), and successful planning applications with local authority collaboration is advantageous. Experience in the London market is particularly beneficial.

About you
You will have a degree in engineering or science and a passion for creating sustainable solutions. You are enthusiastic about sustainability and enjoy working within a dynamic team environment. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach are essential. You are motivated to work within a progressive and well-respected firm at the forefront of sustainability consultancy.
