About the Role
Hoare Lea is a human-centric and planet-conscious engineering consultancy offering intelligent and sustainable solutions to complex design challenges for the built environment across the UK and beyond. As a Graduate Sustainability Consultant, you will join one of the UK’s largest building engineering consultancies, collaborating with highly skilled engineers and specialists on progressive, high-profile projects such as Canolfan Pentre Awel in Carmarthen, Multi-Megawatt Data Centre Campus, Oxford North, One Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester, Gwynfaen in Swansea, and the net-zero neighbourhood of Earls Court in London.
Your day-to-day tasks will vary, exposing you to all aspects of sustainability consultancy to help you discover your strengths and interests. You could be working on live projects across diverse sectors including healthcare, hotels, retail, and residential; undertaking building performance simulation and energy modelling; developing energy strategies to lead sustainability innovation; assisting with environmental assessments such as BREEAM, WELL, and HQM from early design stages through to completion; supporting whole life carbon reporting and Net Zero Carbon strategies; conducting site surveys; researching emerging technologies; and contributing to holistic Sustainability Strategies.
Beyond project work, you may have the opportunity to engage in industry research, development studies, and authoring guidance, influencing national design commissions and industry bodies. Communication will be key, as you liaise with project teams, clients, and attend collaborative meetings.
Hoare Lea supports your career development through a structured Career Paths framework, accredited training, a dedicated mentor and supervisor, and opportunities to progress towards Chartership if desired.
