About the Role
With plans to invest over £10bn in Transmission projects across Central and Southern Scotland by 2030, SP Energy Networks' Transmission team plays a key role in delivering the Transmission network required to meet Scottish and UK Government 2030 targets. As Drawing Office Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplined drawing office supporting engineering for Transmission Network Projects (132kV and above), Transmission, Distribution, Operational Safety, and Distribution Projects (LV to 33kV). Your team will provide conceptual and detailed engineering models and drawings essential for the safe and accurate delivery of projects. You will offer technical support, innovation, and motivation to the project team, assisting with engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

You will ensure all team members comply with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment standards, maintain drawing standards and procedures, and uphold externally audited QA systems including BS EN 9001 accreditation. You will manage drawing office databases, coordinate IT requirements, and contribute to Engineering Key Performance Indicators to ensure efficient team performance. Additionally, you will lead the implementation of BIM technologies, ensuring staff training and understanding of new tools, while supporting the development of BIM tools and managing Autodesk licenses and hardware for the engineering team.

Requirements

Experience
Proven working knowledge of Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction Tools such as Revit, BIM360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, Vault, ProjectWise, and MS Office suite. Experience in Engineering design and Health & Safety compliance within Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural disciplines. People management experience is essential.

About you
You will be a motivated leader with strong communication skills, able to write clear and concise technical reports and documents. You should be proactive in engaging with new technologies and committed to continuous improvement. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent experience is required. Knowledge of BIM and relevant engineering standards is essential.
