About the Role
With plans to invest over £10bn in Transmission projects across Central and Southern Scotland by 2030, SP Energy Networks' Transmission team plays a key role in delivering the Transmission network to support Scottish and UK Government 2030 targets. As Drawing Office Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplined drawing office supporting engineering for Transmission Network Projects (132kV and above), Transmission, Distribution, Operational Safety, and Distribution Projects (LV to 33kV). You will manage the production of conceptual and detailed engineering models and drawings essential for safe and accurate project delivery. Your role includes providing technical advice, motivating the team, and supporting engineering solutions throughout the Transmission Network project lifecycle. You will ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment standards, maintain drawing office databases, and uphold externally audited QA systems including BS EN 9001 accreditation. Additionally, you will coordinate IT requirements, contribute to Engineering KPIs, and lead the implementation and training of BIM technologies. You will also support talent acquisition, BIM tool development, Autodesk licence administration, and hardware management for the Engineering team.

Experience
Proven working knowledge of Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction Tools (such as Revit, BIM360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, Vault, ProjectWise, and MS Office suite). Experience in Engineering design and Health & Safety compliance within Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural disciplines. People management experience is essential.

About you
You will be a motivated leader with strong communication skills, able to write clear and concise technical reports and documents. You are proactive in engaging with new technologies such as BIM and committed to continuous improvement and team development. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent experience is required. Knowledge of BIM and engineering design standards is essential.
