Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 3:36pm. Included in a 1-week in every 6-weeks out-of-hours emergency standby rota with additional payments.

Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, plus standby and overtime opportunities, with potential to increase earnings by £8,000 - £10,000.

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a career-minded individual to join our Mill Green (Hatfield) team as an Electrical and Mechanical Technician. Focused mainly on electrical maintenance, you will perform a range of front-line maintenance and operational activities on sewage pumping stations across Hertfordshire. Working within multi-disciplinary teams, you will carry out scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment. This role offers a chance to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact by helping reduce pollution from our sites and networks.

Your responsibilities will include investigating plant failures and performing repairs efficiently to avoid process interruptions, diagnosing complex faults, installing, modifying, and commissioning new plant equipment, and providing technical advice and training support when required. You will work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, screw/chain conveyors, centrifuges, pumps, control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems including VSDs, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, variable speed drives, and chemical handling and dosing equipment. Safety and compliance with Health and Safety procedures are paramount in all activities.

Requirements

Experience
Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.

- IT literate.
- Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications
Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications (NVQ or C&G Level 3) in mechanical/electrical engineering.
