Location
Newbury STW, Lower Way, Thatcham, RG19 3TS. This is a mobile role covering multiple sites across the Thames Valley area including Reading, Oxford, Swindon, and Aylesbury.

Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm. Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities available, potentially increasing earnings by £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £42,000 per annum depending on skills and experience, plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Pumping Stations Technical Support team within Thames Water. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of Sewage Pumping Stations by undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, and installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations. Your responsibilities include recording work and asset information to improve business performance, identifying future risks, and providing specialist technical advice. You will also coach, train, and develop staff including apprentices, while delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a proactive approach to health and safety, compliance with regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, varied environment with opportunities for ongoing training and development.

Requirements

Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or holding NVQ or C&G Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working on 3-phase electrical systems and electrical control panels.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions or escalate as necessary.
- Experience providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.

Qualifications
- NVQ or C&G Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations preferred but training can be provided.
