About the Role
Equans are seeking a Site Manager to join the team at Waltham Forest School on a permanent basis. Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the overall delivery of the school’s facilities, including cleaning, caretaking, lifecycle works, and asset replacement. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to chair meetings, and the use of innovative ideas to resolve issues effectively. You will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day operations meet high-quality standards and comply with contract requirements, including planned and reactive maintenance.

You will organise and participate in an emergency/out-of-hours call-out service following an escalation protocol. Developing and implementing operational and maintenance strategies to meet the demands of the educational facilities is key, alongside facilitating ongoing improvements and cost efficiencies. You will recruit and manage on-site staff with support from the Contract Manager and HR team, conduct yearly appraisals, and liaise with the Training Officer to manage the annual training schedule and staff development.

Financial and commercial controls are essential to manage expenditure and income within agreed budgets, maximising profitability and delivering cost savings. You will implement and maintain the FM performance monitoring system and be accountable for monthly performance reporting. Administration of helpdesk, maintenance, purchasing, and payroll functions will be managed through the corporate Maximo CAFM system.

Building strong working relationships with all service users to understand their needs and providing first-line audit for procedures and controls, supplemented by external audits to ensure ISO9001 compliance, are also key responsibilities.

- Previous experience in a similar Site Manager role
- Experience within soft FM
- Experience within the educational sector
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Proven experience managing teams and subcontractors
