About the Role
As an O&M Assistant Engineer, you will support the Offshore O&M Operations Engineering team in delivering operations and maintenance objectives specifically related to Telecoms, SCADA, and control & monitoring systems across UK offshore wind farm assets. You will actively collaborate across the broader business, engaging with project services, local O&M teams, and key stakeholders in SCADA and Cybersecurity. Operating under the direction of Senior and Lead Engineers, you will coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure Operational Technologies (OT) are maintained effectively by recognised industry best practices.
Your responsibilities will include understanding O&M site requirements and the importance of maintaining critical infrastructure to protect operational activities and systems. You will perform monitoring checks on various systems to maintain availability, report issues, and escalate concerns to Senior and/or Lead Engineers. Supporting and troubleshooting with external suppliers, you will update documentation for clarity and accountability, support Continuous Improvements by identifying opportunities to optimise workflows, enhance OT system resilience, and contribute to strategic initiatives.
Maintaining coordination and sharing best practices with other Iberdrola and ScottishPower businesses and cybersecurity governance groups, you will provide project-level delivery of Cyber Security solutions while working with central cyber security teams to implement cyber strategies at site.
This role requires flexibility to travel regularly across northern Europe, including Germany, France, Denmark, Spain, and England, to attend meetings and work at different project sites.
Experience
Demonstrable knowledge in a relevant technical speciality such as IT/OT Networking & Cyber Security. Experience and understanding of operational SCADA systems and security standards including ISO 27000 series and ISA/IEC 62443 series. Awareness of UK NIS Regulations 2018 and equivalent European legislation. Experience with technical due diligence is essential. Knowledge of engineering contracts is advantageous.

Highly IT literate with strong communication and coordination skills. Flexible and willing to travel regularly across northern Europe. Foreign language skills in Spanish, French, and/or German are advantageous. Able to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications
A degree in Electronics, Networking, or a related discipline is desirable but not essential. Relevant technical knowledge and practical experience are key to success in this role.
