About the Role
Join Iberdrola Renewables as a Project Engineer and help create a better future, quicker. You will be an effective member of the team, maximising productivity, quality, and effectiveness across multiple tasks including Construction, Maintenance, Fault Investigation/Repair, and Defect Management. You will manage personal objectives to ensure the safe and timely delivery of the department’s work programme and proactively manage interfaces to optimise time management and resource availability.

Your role will involve continuous improvement of work processes, gaining knowledge in business procedures and system operations, and assisting in statutory obligations with a focus on environmental regulations. You will develop expertise in HVDC links, including their technical and commercial operation, and support the management of Substation O&M Delivery and RIIO Health Checks.

Additional responsibilities include supporting marine contracts and surveys, liaising with key stakeholders such as NGET and joint ventures, developing operational skills including Senior Authorised Person and Protection and Control with a focus on HVDC systems, and assisting with outage scheduling and planning to deliver HVDC works throughout the regulatory period. You will also ensure consistent data management by updating SAP/NAMS as required.

This role places you at the heart of Scotland’s Net Zero ambition by 2044 and supports the significant investment in renewable energy infrastructure.

Requirements

Experience
- Relevant experience within a utility business or as a post-graduate with appropriate engineering knowledge
- Working knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures, and working practices
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental legislation including Fluorinated Gas Regulations
- Awareness of network development policies and procedures
- Customer service skills and knowledge of network and business data management systems
- General awareness of commercial and regulatory requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, SAP, and NAMS

Qualifications
- Preferably qualified to Degree, HND, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering HNC or working towards
- Relevant technical knowledge of transmission plant standards, specifications, and commissioning procedures
