In this role, you will lead the delivery of environmental sustainability initiatives by translating the Building New Futures strategy into practical actions. You will manage environmental risks, influence stakeholders, and support team development to drive measurable sustainability outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include influencing early-stage design and planning to identify risks and opportunities that reduce carbon emissions, waste, and biodiversity net loss, supporting the Building New Futures commitments. You will drive the implementation of project sustainability plans and Bridging the Gap actions, reporting progress to senior teams and contributing to strategic delivery.

You will manage complex environmental risks and opportunities, supporting project teams in developing and maintaining robust environmental and sustainability plans. Providing expert advice on environmental compliance, pollution control, waste management, and ecology will be key, ensuring alignment with ISO 14001 and the Business Management System (BMS). You will oversee project compliance performance, including inspections, audits, and reporting, and facilitate external audits by clients and certification bodies.

Collaboration with clients, regulators, and subcontractors will be essential to ensure effective delivery of environmental and sustainability outcomes. You will also lead investigations into environmental incidents, ensuring lessons learned are captured, shared, and embedded into continuous improvement.
