About the Role
Join Balfour Beatty's Power Transmission and Distribution team as a Site-Based Senior Project Manager and play a key role in delivering complex, meaningful, and impactful projects. You will be responsible for the planning, management, and delivery of major projects across the London and Surrey area, contributing to the future of sustainable energy infrastructure in England & Wales. This pivotal role involves leading and inspiring a multi-skilled team, managing all aspects of project delivery from initiation through to commissioning and handover, and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. You will benefit from a project management development pathway towards chartership with the Association for Project Management and be part of an award-winning team focused on innovation and sustainability. Your work will matter not only to infrastructure and engineering experts but also to society as you help connect communities and build sustainably for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a multi-skilled team on large infrastructure projects
- Manage all phases of project delivery including planning, design, monitoring, commissioning, and handover
- Prepare internal and external reports and liaise with stakeholders to support informed, cost-effective decisions
- Maintain a relentless focus on Zero Harm and stay updated with legislation changes
- Develop and update resource allocation plans and schedules
- Lead risk and opportunity reviews and manage the Risk Register
- Ensure procurement plans align with project schedules
- Control expenditure and ensure efficient resource utilisation
- Advocate for data consistency to support successful project delivery

Experience
- Proven experience in project delivery ensuring high quality and safety standards
- Experience in Power/Utilities within large infrastructure projects
- Proven track record in tendering and managing complex projects including sub-contractors
- Commercial awareness with knowledge of budgetary and financial control
- Experience managing and delivering high value infrastructure power projects

Qualifications
