About the Role
Join SP Energy Networks and help create a better future, quicker by supporting the transition to renewable electricity. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide quantity surveying services from tender stage through to final account agreement for a portfolio of new overhead line and substation projects across Central and Southern Scotland. Your responsibilities will include preparing NEC4 tender documentation (typically Option C and E contracts), negotiating tender prices with delivery partners, and preparing award recommendations. You will manage monthly valuations and financial reports, collaborate with delivery partners and internal teams, lead commercial meetings, and ensure compliance with NEC4 contract requirements including early warning and compensation event processes. You will also contribute to best practice initiatives, mentor junior staff, and ensure adherence to industry standards and internal procedures. This role places you at the heart of Scotland’s Net Zero ambitions, supporting significant investment in transmission infrastructure to enable renewable energy growth.

Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in consultancy or contracting environments
- Experience administering NEC3/4 contracts
- Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of procurement, change control, and cost management
- Transmission line experience is desirable

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships internally and externally
- Ability to lead commercial meetings and manage complex contract processes
- Motivated to mentor and develop junior staff

Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent significant experience in a construction environment
- MRICS status is desirable
