About the Role
Join Scottish Power and help create a better future, quicker. As Project Controls Manager (PCM) within SP Energy Networks’ Strategic Projects team, you will be responsible for implementing the Strategic Portfolio’s defined reporting, planning, cost control, risk, baseline and change ways of working across a ~£1 billion Programme of projects. This portfolio includes new overhead lines, new and upgraded substations, and associated design, engineering, construction and electrical works delivered in collaboration with an EPC supply chain. You will embed project control standards, processes, tools and quality requirements, working closely with Development and Delivery Managers, Project Managers, project delivery teams and key stakeholders to monitor and control cost, schedule, risk and change. You will coordinate integration of project schedules, budgets, risks and reporting to provide consolidated Programme-level insights and support project controls teams in applying effective techniques such as cost and schedule variance analysis, earned value metrics and critical path analysis. The role involves management reporting, supporting governance meetings, facilitating alignment between project teams and portfolio controls, and championing continuous improvement and best practices. You will also support adoption of digital tools including Power BI, CEMAR and Primavera P6. The position requires occasional travel to project sites across Scotland and managing teams across multiple locations. This is a key role contributing to the delivery of a £5.4 billion investment in the GB electricity grid over the next five years, supporting Scotland’s Net Zero ambitions by 2044.

Benefits
Our benefits include a double match pension scheme up to 10% company contribution, 36 days paid holidays, holiday purchase scheme, Share Incentive Plan and Sharesave Scheme, payroll giving and charity matched funding, technology vouchers, electric vehicle schemes, cycle to work scheme, public transport season ticket loans, options to purchase dental and private medical insurance, health cash plan, annual health assessments, financial wellbeing support, and exclusive discounts on shopping, leisure, travel insurance and more.
